About DCC

Dunabogdány Cricket Club was formed in 2007 after the first ever public meeting in Hungary to promote the sport of cricket.

 

The meeting was held at Becketts Irish Pub in Budapest with the attendance of 15 people, in February of the same year.

 

Founder members present at this meeting, and many remain players of DCC include:

 

Yusaf Akbar, Steve Anthony, Mate Benczes, David Brown, Laci Kresz, Andrew Smith and Adrian Zador.

 

DCC main objectives are listed below:

 

-    To play their cricket in the true spirit it was intended to be played.

-    Actively promote and develop the participation of Hungarians in the team.

-    To establish a little piece of England in Dunabogdány village every Saturday or  Sunday afternoon, during the summer months.

-    In the not to distant future to have their own ground for the exclusive use of cricket.

-    DCC plan to perform two tours a season to promote the club as well as Hungarian Cricket in general.

-    To BBQ and drink beer on a regular basis.
